News in Socorro
The Lower Valley Water District tells us, the District’s water source has changed from one pump station, to another. Some water in the City of Socorro has temporarily turned white cause by AIR pumped by the new pump station. If you get water in a glass and let it sit for a couple of minutes, the tiny air bubbles will disappear and it should go back to the regular clear color. Also Lower Valley Water District crews are flushing some water hydrants to take the air out of the water mains. This should take a few days, meanwhile some customers have complained of colored water. This is due to sediment in our lines and valves. This is not a threat to your health. The Lower Valley Water District is telling us, they are also working closely with their lab to make sure the water quality stays safe. If you have any questions, you can call the Lower Valley Water District at 915-791-4480.
